The Verona Area Performing Arts Series presented its first concert in July 1998, and followed with its first concert series in January 1999. We are a nonprofit, community-centered arts organization which strives to bring a vast array of topnotch music to the Hometown Stage. This season we open with singer/actress Linda Lavin, known to many as “Alice,” a TV role she starred in for nine seasons, and for which she was awarded two Golden Globe awards. A Tribute to the Beatles and the return of pianist, Jim Witter, playing the music of Simon and Garfunkel will cap of an exciting season. As in the past, we continue to support education in the arts in our area schools by offering clinics and workshops with the entertainers we bring to the Stage. Students, and maybe parents, remember exciting and inspiring past workshops with groups such as Dallas Brass and Toxic Audio. Our season would not be possible without the generous support of many individuals, businesses, and corporations in our community. We thank each of them for their loyal support. As a volunteer organization, we welcome your comments and suggestions for future shows. We hope you enjoy each of our shows. |
