Jason Petty Saturday, November 14, 2009, 7:30 pm Jason Petty‘s nostalgic look at Hank Williams and his influence on country music will amaze you! Petty, a veteran actor and singer, began portraying the country music legend in 1996 at the world famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and now appears in national tours. He’s received rave reviews from all major critics including the New York Times, Variety and Rolling Stone and won the Obie Award for “Outstanding Actor" in his off-Broadway production. Petty, backed by a four piece band, not only brings Hank and his music back to life in this insightful, energetic show, but he also explores country music lore. The NY Post stated, "At times it seems as if Petty is not just offering an impersonation of Williams, but channeling his ghost." The NY Times added, “He does a remarkable job of rendering Williams’ famous melodies with the silky warble and sob that recreate their touching simplicity.” Petty also pays tribute to those who influenced Hank and those Hank influenced.
